Terms of use

DeiC DMP is available for researchers at Danish research institutions and their collaborators.

User Accounts

The use of DeiC DMP requires a user account with a personal username and password. Users must provide a valid email address for confirmation of account creation and password reset, as well as for notifications. The types of notifications can be customized in the user profile. Users may choose to link their user account to their institutional login – note that this does not replace the requirements for a personal username, password, and email address.

Users must choose their affiliation according to the list of supported organisations presented on the main page. Users not affiliated with one of the supported organisations should choose "Other Organisation". Without the correct affiliation, users may not have access to the contents and services provided by the respective institution in DeiC DMP (such as data management plan templates, guidance texts and review). The DeiC DMP service managers may review the chosen affiliation of new users and correct them if necessary.

Users may request to deactivate their user account, or to have their user account merged into a new one. Users may also request to have their email address changed, if they no longer have access to the one provided when signing up. Requests must be made directly to the DeiC DMP service managers via the contact form. Requests will only be approved if the user's identity can be verified.

Data Management

Plans The primary use of DeiC DMP is the creation of data management plans according to available templates from funders and research institutions. Institutional templates are managed directly by the respective institution. Note that not all research institutions have templates available. Funder templates are managed by the DeiC DMP service managers.

Users are solely responsible for the contents of their own data management plans. Users may not provide personal and/or sensitive information in their plans. Users may choose to share their plans with other users (for viewing, editing, and/or commenting). They can also invite new users by providing their email address. Those will then receive an email invitation with instructions to create their own user account before they can access the plan.

Service managers and institutional administrators may have access to all plans for administrative purposes only. They cannot change any user’s permissions to a plan (including transfer of ownership of a plan).

Support

Institutional administrators provide support for the use of DeiC DMP for their own users (according to the chosen affiliation when signing up / in the user profile). Contact information is provided after logging in. Note that not all institutions provide support.

The DeiC DMP service managers can be contacted via the contact form regarding general technical issues such as problems with account creation and management.

Planned downtime of the service due to maintenance or software updates will be announced in due time on the main page and via DeiC Serviceinfo.
